Dr. Rex Werner has been providing eyecare in East County San Diego since 1989.
He is a graduate of the Southern California College of Optometry and has worked with the department of Public Health, Indian Health Services and Veterans Administration as well as in private practice. Dr. Rex is certified in the treatment and management of eye diseases and disorders. He works closely with retinal, cataract and lasik surgeons to provide his patients with the best Eyecare possible. Dr. Rex stays on top of the latest technology and treatments by keeping up with the continuing education for current eye care. He fits all types of contact lenses including toric, bifocal and medically necessary soft and gas permeable lenses.
Dr. Rex likes the outdoors. In the summer time you may well find him riding the waves at the beach or water skiing and in the cooler months he enjoys hiking and camping and riding his dune buggy out in the sand dunes. Dr. Rex enjoys donating his time, talents and knowledge of eyecare with those in need through mission trips both locally and in other countries. He enjoys practicing with his son Dr. Aaron at Werner Optometry as well as with Dr. Brittany and Dr. Ricky.
He is a member of the American Optometric Association, California Optometric Association, San Diego Optometric Association, Vision Source and the American Sand Association.
